Vogue Italia’s latest project in support of a new generation of designers, conceived in collaboration with the FAD Institute of Luxury Fashion & Style, throws the spotlight on an up-and-coming wave of indian fashion talents.The first ever platform for India, the initiative is conceived to propel the evolving indian fashion industry and give Indian designers global visibility and business opportunities.
Sara Sozzani Maino selected the project’s finalists from the countless applications received, and some of them had the chance to meet the Head of Vogue Talents & Deputy Editor in Chief of Vogue Italia in Mumbai for a special portfolio review at the FAD Mumbai Campus earlier in December. Now we reveal the finalists, who will be unveiling their creations during a special FAD & Vogue Talents event in Mumbai followed by a showcase in Milan, Italy.

All applications were reviewed based on a selection criteria and the shortlisted designers were unveiled in the February Issue of Vogue Talents in Italy. The designers will have an opportunity to showcase at an exclusive two day event hosted by VOGUE Italia x FAD in Mumbai to be held in June, 2018. A jury comprising of Vogue Italia & global industry leaders will choose one designer to fly to Milan and showcase at the iconic Vogue Talents event at Palazzo Morando during Milan Fashion Week in September 2018. Frequented by global industry icons such as Anna Wintour, Donatella Versace, Anna Dello Russo & fashion houses such as LVMH, Keiring & the likes, the Vogue Talents event will give Indian talents an opportunity to engage with global media, buyers & industry insiders.
VOGUE TALENTS SHOWCASE MILAN FASHION WEEK
“Scouting For India”, now in its second edition, is the global project that Vogue Italy Talents has developed in collaboration with FAD – Institute of Luxury Fashion and Style, India and Middle East’s premier fashion school (www.fadacademy.com), aimed at talented designers of Indian nationality, who reside in India or elsewhere in the world.
Investing into the future of Indian fashion, FAD has partnered with Vogue Italy to give Indian designers a global outreach through showcasing opportunities, media visibility and stocking opportunities.
Applying designers will receive an initial collection and portfolio review from industry insiders including Deputy Editor in Chief at Vogue Italia and Head of Vogue Talents, Sara Sozzani Maino with an opportunity to meet her at the FAD Mumbai Campus. Shortliested designers will get an opportunity to unveil their collections at the #ScoutingforIndia Showcase in Mumbai and a special feature in Vogue Talents ( Italy ) and the winner will have the chance to showcase their collections at the September 2019 Vogue Talents event during Milan Fashion Week.
The last edition was won by Shyma Shetty and Pranav Mishra, the designers of Huemn, who had the opportunity to showcase their Spring Summer 2019 collection at the Palazzo Cusani within “Vogue Talents & Who is On Next?”, during Milan Fashion Week.
Talented designers of Indian nationality will have the chance to take part in the new edition of the scouting initiative that aims at Womenswear, Menswear and Accessories designers.
